Bongska Huset in Abbekas

WIth Midsommar celebrations underway in Sweden this last weekend, we took the opportunity to relish a long weekend with a little getaway to Abbekås, in southern Skåne. Just 45 minutes from Malmo, it was such a nice drive from the city to the seaside, arriving in the evening at the charming Bongska Huset. I’m always looking for dog-friendly places to visit, and Bongska Huset was not just dog-friendly, but dog-welcoming; when we checked into our room we found a blanket, bowl and biscuits, all ready for Saga.

While we were in the area we took the chance to visit 15 Minuter en Kvart for a lovely dinner overlooking the fields. Fancy pizza and the most perfect views of the rolling fields made for an ideal Midsommar night.

This was the perfect mini-break to celebrate the start of summer in Sweden, spoilt with sunshine and blue skies and those heavenly 10pm sunsets!
