Hollandia
There’s not many places we’ve been able to dine at since moving to Malmö, but our go-to spot when we’re needing a fancy fika break is Konditori Hollandia. Hollandia is Malmö’s oldest patisserie, dealing in sweet treats since 1903. In the 1950s the patisserie was furnished with furniture from The Netherlands… hence, adding the name Holland!
I love the red velvet benches, the butter yellow walls, and the touches of marble and over-the-top drapery. It’s fancy without feeling fussy and is the nicest spot to spend a Saturday morning before the rest of the city wakes up. I can’t wait for the day when friends and family can come to visit us in Sweden and I’ll get to play tour-guide around our new home. Hollandia will be my first stop for fika!
