Spring updates in the bookshelf
Last year we did a fun DIY in the bookcase, adding panels of wallpaper to the back of the shelving to give a new look to the bookshelf — and to the room overall! It was perfect for the autumn and winter seasons, and felt so cozy over the Christmas period all decked out with garland and ribbons. As winter moved on, I wanted a brighter feeling to welcome in the spring, so found myself ordering more wallpaper (I opted for William Morris again; when you’re onto a good thing, why deviate?!) in soft pastel tones, perfect for a lighter look.
The original plan with the wallpaper had been that it could be removable, so that we could safely take it down and store it, and then put it up again depending on the season. I was nervous to see if my idea had worked out, but was pleasantly surprised to find each panel just popped off the wall without any issues — I think from all 6 panels of wallpaper there was maybe only 1 tiny tear in one of the pieces. I’ve written the location of each panel to correspond with the bookshelf on the back of the wallpaper, so hopefully in another 6 months time it will be simple enough to switch them out again!
I love the new look in the studio room, all the pink and soft pastel green and blues feel so fresh and fun!
