A wonderful stay at the Hoxton Hotel, Florence

Italy is always a good idea, and a weekend jaunt to Florence sounded just perfect. We checked in to the just-opened Hoxton Hotel in Florence, the ideal base for exploring the city; close enough to the centre to walk all over town - but being just far enough out of the main hubbub that it always felt quiet and relaxing at the hotel.

I booked the Cosy room - and specially requested a room with a pink bedhead. The hotel is set across two buildings; the original building is a former monastery and is more traditional in styling, while the newer building is more contemporary - the different rooms reflect a different feeling in each of the buildings. The room was well appointed with everything needed for a weekend stay, and all the colours and textures were really beautifully done. After a big weekend ticking off a lot of bucket list art viewings, The Hoxton Florence was the perfect place to retreat to at the end of the day.
