Rainbow Spotting: San Francisco Chinatown
Chinatown, in any city around the world, is almost always guaranteed to be an overload of colour. Crimsons and oranges, teals and sunshine yellows; you don’t have to go to far to spot most of the classic colours of the rainbow. San Francisco is no exception, with signs and lanterns in every shade imaginable. San Francisco Chinatown is also the oldest in North America, and the largest outside of Asia — so there’s plenty of sights, smells and visual treats to take in! Alongside the shop fronts, are lots of alleys with murals adoring the walls, such as the ones created especially for Color Factory during the stint it held in the original location in San Francisco. Commissioned as part of a ‘Color Walk’ around San Francisco neighbourhoods, these murals are just as fun to take in as the signs and shops along the main strip.
