Modernism Week 2020; artwork by Megan McKean

I shared the artwork I created for Modernism Week 2020 recently on the blog, but it was so fun to get to be in Palm Springs during February and see my work in the wild! Dotted all over Palm Springs, from being on display in CAMP during Modernism Week, as well as available as postcards and posters from Destination PSP, and on assorted pieces for MW promotional items.

The artwork was inspired by the theme of Modernism Week 2020 - ‘A Space Modyssey’ so I made sure to include some of the buildings that most echoed that feeling to me; including the Alexander ‘House of Tomorrow’ — probably better know as Elvis and Priscilla’s Honeymoon Hideaway —  and Albert Frey’s Tramway Gas Station which is now the much loved visitors centre that welcomes you to Palm Springs!  Connecting illustration and travel has long been my dream, and having this opportunity to see my work in its ‘natural environment’ is an absolutely thrill, and no hyperbole when I say a dream come true.

Posters and prints available from Destination PSP, online and in-store.
