Sweet like Candy

One of my favourite things to do anytime I’m travelling is browse the supermarket aisle for interesting packaging — I love seeing graphic design in other countries and other languages, and the supermarket is like a giant museum, often with some tasty souvenirs to take home too!

I’ve been collecting tiny boxes of candy the last couple of months when I’ve been doing my grocery shop; no-one loves candy (or godis, as it’s called here) like the Swedes. There are so many varieties of licorices — salty, soft, chewy, sweet, citrus — and dozens of fruity chews, pastilles and gums too! My favourite boxes are the Tulo (the retro logotype is so good!) and the diamonds of the Salmiakki, but I’m also quite partial to the yellow ‘Salta katten’ which is a tiny little cat shaped licorice. So sweet!
