The 2 Month Makeover

We’ve just ticked over into 2 months in our Malmö apartment, and just installed the last piece of furniture we needed to get rid of all the cardboard boxes that were serving as our temporary furniture! I think we’re 90% finished now — there are a couple of small pieces we’re still waiting on, like an ottoman and a couch cover, and we’ll need to eventually get a 4th dining chair… but for now, I’m calling it close enough! All the rooms are painted - strawberry and pistachio for the two main rooms, with a sky blue and bright white in the rest of the apartment. I won’t be volunteering to paint whole rooms again for a little white but am so pleased with the results and all of the effort has been very well worth it.

We took a snap in the studio room on the weekend, the same spot we took a photo when we first moved in. Things are looking quite different now, with a whole lot more colour on the walls — and most importantly, a disco ball in the window. Starting from scratch with decorating the apartment has been so fun; working with colour on such a big scale and putting a space together that feels cheerful and welcoming has been an absolute delight. I’m looking forward to slowly adding some more treasures as I collect them and making this space ‘home’ for the next little while.
