2 years in Sweden

The weekend that just passed marked our second anniversary of living in Sweden. It feels like such a strange milestone in so many ways; all too quickly coming around, while simultaneously feeling like this is how things have always been! This last year in particular has felt much more comfortable, settling in to our apartment with all of the renovations and cosmetic changes completed in the year before, and of course hosting our sweet Saga. Having a puppy in the mix has meant we’re chatting to more people on the street, and exploring more places to exercise the dog! We’ve become quite the family of forest aficionados, each weekend visiting a new nature reserve or trail for a short hike.

Having the opportunity (and space in our apartment) to host neighbours and friends for meals has been such a nice experience, and even more wonderful has been how many friends and family visited this past year! Getting to share our home and our new city with those dear to us has been the most delightful experience. I’m so grateful for this adventure and to be enjoying this season of our life in such a beautiful part of the world. Malmo feels like such a cosy and comfortable fit for us, and I’m sure we’ll have many more years here enjoying all the city has to offer. We marked the 2 year occasion with a new purchase; a waffle iron! Waffles are a very popular food for Swedes, so we thought it a fitting celebration for a breakfast at home — and many more breakfasts to come!

I made a little video recap of the last 12 months on Instagram; I love looking back through all these moments and watching the seasons change as it moves along the year!
