Maltesholm Slott

Sweden has no shortage of castles, mansions and manors, and there are about 250 castles in Skåne alone! Many of them are still privately owned, but will often open their gardens to the public during the summer months. We stopped into Maltesholm Slott on our drive home from Kristianstad on the weekend to admire the lovely peachy building, and see the tallest Douglas Fir in Sweden (that is also over 200 years old!). The main attraction for me was the incredible display of rhododendrons, a wonderful, colourful surprise in the grounds.
