Pildammsparken in May

It was a ‘red day’ in Sweden this week for Ascension Day, so we made the most of a bonus day off and visited some of Malmö’s prettiest parks. We hired bikes for the morning and rode a couple of kilometres to Pildammsparken (which translates to Willowpond Park). We had walked to Pildammsparken once before in late January, where it was cold, snowy and the ponds were all frozen over. It was a stark contrast to see it in May, and in full spring mode — the famous willows are so beautiful lining the waters edge, and all morning we could hear the birds chirping and frogs croaking in the water. We also timed it just right for lots of springtime babies! Some fuzzy goslings strutting around the grass, and some spiky-haired water birds splashing about on the rocks were a lovely sight to see.
