Gucci Garden, Florence

If you’re a fashion fiend, a history lover, textiles aficionado or just an enthusiastic maximalist — you’re going to love Florence’s Gucci Garden. Set inside the 14th-century Palazzo della Mercanzia, Gucci Garden includes experiential boutique shopping, the Gucci Osteria da Massimo Bottura restaurant, and the Galleria exhibition rooms.

A history as long-running as Gucci’s gives a huge expanse of material to draw from, and the many rooms of the galleria showcase past designs, the brand history, and timelines of signature pieces such as handbags and luggage. The displays let you see up close the incredible detail of the garments (the beading! the stitching!) and are an eclectic mix of culture, history and branding from over the years. Even the admission tickets are beautifully designed, in the signature Gucci pink with the ‘Gucci eye’ watching over your visit.

Downstairs the boutique has specialty pieces exclusive to Gucci Garden, as well as clothing, homewares and jewellery. A lush and layered haven of opulence, you’ll be mentally redecorating your entire life in no-time.
